Hon. John 'KJ' Kiarie pays league fees for 26 Dagoretti South teams
Twenty-six teams from Dagoretti South will play a full season without the registration fee standing in their way, after the constituency's MP honoured a promise made to branch clubs.

Dagoretti South Member of Parliament Hon. John "KJ" Kiarie joined FKF Nairobi West leadership and football stakeholders in a colourful event where the MP made good of his promise to pay league fees for 26 teams from Dagoretti South.
Hon. Kiarie commended the teams for the good work they are doing for grassroots football and vowed to continue supporting teams and growing the game in the constituency.
The fee is the barrier
For a community club, the league fee arrives at the worst possible moment: before a single match has been played, before gate collections, before any sponsor has seen the team in action. It is the point at which many sides that are perfectly capable of competing quietly drop out of the calendar.
Clearing that one payment changes what a club can plan for. Money that would have gone to registration goes to balls, bibs, transport to away fixtures and, in the better-run sides, a small retainer for a coach who would otherwise be volunteering every weekend.
It also changes the league itself. Dagoretti is already the branch's biggest sub-county competition, and a full, stable fixture list means fewer walkovers, more competitive matches and a table that actually reflects the football played.

Support of this kind carries an obligation. Teams whose fees have been covered are expected to hold up their end of the season: honour every fixture, register players properly, keep their touchlines disciplined, and treat match officials with respect.
Club responsibilities this season
- Complete player registration before the first matchday
- Honour every scheduled fixture or notify the league office in advance
- Provide a responsible official on the touchline at all matches
- Report results and team sheets through the league secretary
The branch continues to welcome partners, from constituency offices to businesses and individuals, who want to back grassroots football in a concrete way. Sponsoring a league, a sub-county or a single club's season is the most direct route from goodwill to football actually being played.
